In 2019, the LaGuardia and Wagner Archives partnered with the Jacob Riis Neighborhood Settlement at Queensbridge houses to begin an oral history project. Wporking with faculty from Social Science department, the students did archival research on public housing, trained in oral history methods, and conducted interviews with long-time residents of Queensbridge housing.
In addition to editing the oral history transcripts and assembling the content, I wrote two pieces about the project and our guiding pedagogy.
